LDS Wedding Reception at The Studio in Draper, Utah

The Reception Details

This was my first time photographing a reception at The Studio in Draper, and I was honestly blown away! The venue has so much natural light pouring in through its huge windows, creating the prettiest atmosphere for celebrating. One of my favorite details was the gorgeous chandelier draped in greenery. It added such a romantic, elevated touch to the space while still keeping everything feeling bright and welcoming.

The couple also did such a lovely job making the reception feel personal. They displayed bridal portraits throughout the room, giving everyone a chance to see more of their wedding photos and making the space feel even more connected to their story. I love when couples incorporate their photos into their reception decor because it lets those special memories become part of the celebration itself.

Wonder Woman : Mother of the Bride, Florist, and Caterer!

One of the sweetest parts of this wedding was getting to highlight the bride’s mom and the incredible work she does with her friend through The Salt Lake Sweetery! They helped provide the food for both the luncheon and reception, and everything was such a thoughtful, personal touch to the day.

For the luncheon, they featured a Venezuelan carne recipe from Diego’s mom. They nailed it on their very first try! Guests could build their bowls with rice, pork, lettuce, queso, corn, tortillas, and all the delicious toppings. I love when couples incorporate meaningful family recipes into their wedding day. Food has such a special way of bringing people together, and this was a fun way to share a piece of their family with everyone celebrating them.

Then, for the reception, The Salt Lake Sweetery brought out some of their own favorites! They served their famous orange rolls, cake, and a brownie-and-ice-cream bar. Honestly, what better way to celebrate a wedding than with a table full of sweet treats for everyone to enjoy?

It was so special to see the bride’s mom contribute to the day in such a meaningful way. From a family-inspired luncheon to the desserts everyone could gather around, the food was more than just something to serve guests. It was another way to make the celebration feel personal, welcoming, and full of love.

If you're planning a wedding in the Salt Lake City area and looking for sweet treats for your celebration, be sure to check out The Salt Lake Sweetery!

Reception

One of the sweetest parts of the reception was the receiving line! The couple stood beneath a beautiful wooden archway, creating the perfect spot to greet everyone who came to celebrate with them. And when I say the line was long, I mean so many people came to show them love! From little kiddos and grandparents to friends from her mission, it was so special to see people from all different seasons of their lives come together for this day.

A receiving line can feel like a small part of the reception timeline, but it gives the couple a chance to hug, laugh, and connect with the people who helped shape their lives. Seeing so many familiar faces gather to congratulate them was such a sweet reminder of just how loved they are!

The Sweetest First Dances

Some wedding moments are extra special because of the memories behind them, and the father-daughter dance was one of those moments. The song they chose was especially meaningful because it was the same song her dad used to sing to her as a lullaby when she was little. Hearing that song again on her wedding day made the dance feel even more sentimental, a beautiful reminder that even as life changes and she begins this new chapter, she will always be his little girl.

The mother-son dance was another special moment, followed by the newlyweds' first dance together as husband and wife. Between the sweet family traditions and the excitement of watching these two begin their life together, the dances were such a lovely way to slow down and soak in the meaning of the day before the celebration continued!

The Studio in Draper: A Beautiful Reception Space

The Studio in Draper is such a beautiful space for a wedding reception! One of my favorite features is the large windows that bring in so much natural light and make the room feel open and bright. They create a gorgeous backdrop for photos, but one thing to keep in mind is lighting placement.

There’s plenty of room to arrange guest tables, set up a dance floor, and create a space where everyone can gather, eat, and celebrate. The venue also has a catering kitchen and a designated area for food, which makes reception logistics easier. And for photos, you have the flexibility to use the beautiful indoor space or step outside for a different look!

If you’re looking for a reception venue in Draper with natural light, room to dance, and space to bring your wedding vision to life, The Studio is definitely worth considering.
