A Timeless Wedding at the Orem Temple in Utah

Their First Look

Before Mia arrived, I had some time to catch up with Jake, who was feeling a little under the weather but was still in high spirits! We chatted about their proposal, and I got to hear how Jake had pulled off the sweetest long-distance surprise. He came into town without Mia having any idea he was even there! I love hearing the stories behind how couples got engaged, and this one was especially fun.

When Mia arrived, she was SO excited to see Jake for their first look! We actually did a first look at the wedding where I first met these two, so it was extra special to get to photograph another big moment in their story. (You can see that beautiful day here).

We found a great spot, got Jake into position, and waited for Mia to make her way over. The moment they saw each other was so sweet, and I loved getting to capture that excitement and anticipation before they headed into the temple to be sealed together!

Bridals at the Orem Temple

We spent some time exploring the grounds of the Orem Utah Temple for their bridals, and the weather ended up being a dream for photos! An incoming storm brought some beautiful shade, giving us soft, even light as we moved around the temple and captured portraits of the two of them.

I love getting to photograph couples around the temple before their sealing. There's something so special about having a few quiet moments together, taking in the day and celebrating the commitment they're about to make. We got some beautiful portraits before they headed inside for their sealing, and I couldn't have been happier with how everything came together!

The Bouquet: Made With Love

One of my favorite details from this wedding was Mia's bouquet, and it was even more special because Jake made it himself for his bride! He did an incredible job. The colors and flowers were gorgeous, and knowing that he had put it together for her made it that much sweeter.

I always love when wedding details have a personal story behind them. Your flowers don't have to come from an expensive florist to be meaningful, and this bouquet was such a perfect example of that. It was beautiful, thoughtful, and made with so much love!

Family Photos

Family photos are such an important part of a wedding day, and I especially loved seeing how close Mia's family is. Her cousins were so tight-knit, and it was the sweetest thing to witness! We made sure to get a big group photo with everyone together, which I know will be such a meaningful image to look back on for years to come.

After that, we moved into the shade underneath the temple, right by the gorgeous stained-glass windows at the Orem Utah Temple. This is one of my favorite spots! The beautiful glass adds so much character to photos, and the colors complemented the blues and greens throughout the wedding day perfectly.

It's always worth taking a little time to find beautiful spots for family photos, especially when they combine a meaningful location with gorgeous natural details. These portraits are about more than just getting everyone in one frame. They're about preserving the people who showed up to celebrate such an important day in your life.

Bridal Party Photos

This part of the day was extra fun for me because I got to see my high school bestie, Abby, who was also a 2026 bride! It was so fun seeing her again and getting to meet everyone else who was part of Mia and Jake's wedding party.

We started with photos of the entire group before splitting off for individual bridesmaid and groomsmen photos. I love making sure couples have those classic group portraits while also leaving room for the fun, candid moments that show off everyone's personalities.

And then we moved to the grass for one of the best moments of the day: the groomsmen throwing Jake up into the air!

I have genuinely never seen a more perfect starfish shape in my LIFE. The commitment to the pose was incredible, and the resulting photos were hilarious in the best way. These are the kinds of moments that make wedding party photos so much fun. You get the timeless portraits, but you also get to let everyone be a little silly and make memories together.

Testimonials

Groom :

“Her photos were awesome we had her for our engagement photos too. I’m not a very photogenic guy but she is so natural with her photos I didn’t feel out of place at all and they’re all very authentic. The spreadsheet for photos she gave for the wedding was so well put together it made things seamless and there was no awkward moments where people could try and shove themself into a photo they weren’t supposed to be in. Alexis is super fun to be around and was great at taking real time photos during our reception, and was also just really helpful cause I’ve never been a groom before. She also made me and my lovely wife a drink. 10/10”

Bride :

Her photos are as she advertises-- timeless, genuine, vibrant. She also did our engagements and I am OBSESSED!! She truly enjoys her work and you can tell by her attention to detail as well as her desire to participate in the day! She sure loves the dance floor which makes for some AMAZING candid photos!! We love you Alexis!!”
