Amavi Event Center Wedding Guide: Everything You Need to Know Before Booking
If you’re planning a wedding in Utah County and want something that feels clean, modern, elegant, and timeless without feeling cold, the Amavi Event Center is one of those venues that quietly surprises a lot of couples—in the best way.
It doesn’t rely on dramatic mountain views or rustic barns. Instead, it leans into something different: bright natural light, simple architecture, and an interior that photographs beautifully in almost any condition.
As a wedding photographer, I photographed a wedding here in April, and I walked away genuinely impressed with how effortless the space was to work in—and how much it elevated even a simple, intimate wedding day.
This guide is based on that experience so you know exactly what to expect if you’re considering it for your wedding or reception.
About Amavi Event Center
Amavi Event Center is a modern indoor wedding venue designed for couples who want a polished, minimal, and flexible space for their wedding day.
It works especially well for:
Civil ceremonies
LDS couples planning a temple sealing separately
Luncheon or evening receptions
Smaller to mid-sized weddings that still want an elevated feel
The overall aesthetic is very clean and intentional—white walls, large windows, and open space that allows your design and your people to be the focus.
My Experience Photographing a Wedding at Amavi
I photographed a wedding here in April, and the day ended up being slightly cloudy with a bit of drizzle.
Normally, that can create stress for couples or photographers—but at Amavi, it didn’t matter at all.
Everything is indoors.
The couple had a civil ceremony inside the venue (they are planning their LDS sealing a couple months later), followed by an indoor luncheon-style reception. It felt intimate, calm, and very intentional.
There were about 50 guests for the ceremony and closer to 70 guests for the reception, which felt like a really comfortable size for the space.
What stood out most to me was how easy the entire day felt. Nothing felt chaotic or weather-dependent. The couple could just be present.
The Natural Light Is the Real Star of This Venue
One of the biggest surprises for me was how good the natural light is inside.
Large windows line the space, and they do a lot of the heavy lifting in terms of photography.
We took a large portion of portraits right inside the venue:
Along the white walls
Near the windows
Using clean, minimal backgrounds
And honestly—it worked beautifully.
The light was soft, even on a cloudy day, and the white interior bounced everything in a way that felt clean but still warm.
If you’re someone who loves the idea of timeless, airy, editorial-style wedding photos, this venue really supports that aesthetic.
Best Photo Spots at Amavi
From my experience photographing here, the best areas for portraits were:
1. The window-lined walls
This is where the natural light is strongest and most flattering.
2. The white interior walls
Perfect for clean, editorial-style couple portraits.
3. Indoor reception space
Works beautifully for candid moments and detail shots.
4. Lower level getting-ready spaces
There is a downstairs area with a bridal suite and groom’s room, which is perfect for quiet moments, final touches, or detail photos.
Everything stays cohesive visually, which makes galleries feel really consistent from start to finish.
Lighting + Weather (What You Should Know)
Even though it rained lightly during part of the day I photographed, it didn’t affect anything at all.
That’s one of the biggest advantages of this venue:
No weather stress
No backup indoor/outdoor decisions
No lighting scrambling
Everything just works indoors.
For photographers, the lighting is predictable in the best way. For couples, that usually means less stress throughout the day.
Parking + Guest Experience
Parking is located at the back of the building.
One thing I did notice is that it can feel slightly confusing for guests when they first arrive, because the entrance feels like you’re coming in through the back side of the venue.
However, they do have signage placed to help guide guests, so once people arrive, it’s straightforward.
I’d just recommend including a small note in your wedding details or invitation so guests know where to enter.
Why This Venue Works So Well for LDS Couples
A lot of the couples who would love Amavi are LDS couples planning:
A temple sealing earlier in the day
Followed by a civil ceremony or luncheon reception here
Or a reception-only celebration with extended family
Because everything is indoor and flexible, it works really well with temple timelines that can sometimes shift slightly depending on travel, family photos, or scheduling.
It also makes the transition from sealing → reception feel very smooth and calm.
What Kind of Couple This Venue Is Perfect For
From my experience, Amavi is best for couples who want:
A clean, modern, timeless aesthetic
Indoor-only wedding confidence (no weather stress)
A space that photographs consistently well
A more intimate guest count (50–100ish feels ideal)
A simple, elegant backdrop that doesn’t overpower the day
It’s not a “grand mountain view” venue—and it’s not trying to be.
Instead, it gives you something really valuable:
a calm, beautiful space where everything feels intentional and easy.
What Surprised Me Most
Honestly, I expected it to feel more minimal or plain in person.
But what surprised me was:
how elegant it felt once decorated
how well the light worked throughout the day
how easy it was to move between ceremony, portraits, and reception
and how much the space elevated even a simple setup
It’s one of those venues that photographs better than you expect from photos online.
Final Thoughts
Amavi Event Center is a great fit if you’re looking for a wedding day that feels:
calm, clean, modern, and beautifully simple.
It’s not about dramatic scenery—it’s about creating space for your people, your story, and your moments to stand out.
And as a photographer, that kind of environment is something I always appreciate stepping into.
